There is really only one word that can be used to fully integrate the words “Internet, Business and Profit” into a successful merge. In every article you read about making your site, company, or business a success, you will always find one word attached to it - “TRAFFIC”. Traffic is always included to express the importance of generating traffic. Traffic is the core of our success. Without traffic we have no sales, no customers, and we end up failing. An internet based business is no different than an offline business. Both need traffic which comes from advertising. Off-line businesses advertise by TV, radio, word of mouth and even by mail. Their hopes are for you, the consumer, to visit and possibly become their customer. Iinternet based businesses must find avenues to generate traffic to their sites in hopes that a visitor will come, see what they have for sale and possibly become a customer. See how it this works in the same manner?
If you have been promoting your site or business and you are not getting the amount of traffic you think you should be getting then it is time to reconsider your strategies.
Timing is crucial and you should always be on top of your marketing strategies and stay one step ahead of everyone else. When it comes to getting traffic always think in terms of yesterday and not today or tomorrow. Here are seven strategies to increase your traffic starting from yesterday.
1) Invest your time and money in good advertising with search engines. Some businesses shy away from spending money to increase traffic but you can build traffic quickly with Google’s Adwords or Yahoo’s Overture. Both provide great advertising. It is imperative that you do this because Adwords and Overture is the top strategy to increasing your traffic in a quick fashion.
If you;ve tested your product and your sales page to make sure they will convert to sales, then every cent you spend using Google and Yahoo is well worth it. You can see for yourself that search engine advertising strategies have made many companies very successful
2) Exchange or Trade Links with other sites.
This is a great strategy but I do have to warn you that linking to other sites can also lose sales for you. As long as you have the ability to manage your site as a webmaster you can set your link exchanges to open in a new window. This will keep the visitors on your site.This strategy benefits both companies because you both are working for more traffic.
3) Use Viral Marketing
Viral marketing is used by many. It allows you to promote your company or product without a lot of cost, usually very minimal. This strategy can be quite sneaky. Attach your business or product link to different types of media such as funny videos, an entertainment game, or an interesting article or even through a gossip community. People that see it on these types of media get infected with the product and they start to pass the word around to their friends - with your link included.
4) Search for and use proper keywords or keyword phrases
This strategy hits home for many of us who are all trying to optimize our personal sites to get to the top of the search engines. With millions of pages listed in the search engines affiliate pages that you have no control over will not rise to the top. I highly recommend that you acquire your own domain and hosting and work on your “You, Inc.” site. Great keywords, keyword phrases, and quality content will skyrocket your page to the top of the search engines. You can do this yourself or hire someone to do it for you.
5) Write Articles that can lead traffic to your site
Keep in mind that there are a lot of blogs, article directories, and forums that talk about the specific industry you are in. Join them and submit your article with your resource box (a description of your services with a link to your site) at the end of your article. Remember, keep your articles on topic. Do not try to write articles about dog products to a car directory.
6) Join online communities.
There are thousands of online communities and you can search for one that is centered on your type of service or product. If you want to sell dog products look for forums, social netowrking sites, blogs and other venues that are focused on dogs. Do your research and you can find many communities that you will fit into.
7) Last but not least, create a newsletter or e-course
Create a newsletter or e-course, which is most often done through an auto-responder. As people get to know you and the quality of your work they will sign up to your newsletter. Have a capture page on your site and explain the benefits they will receive from signing up for your course or newsletter. If your newsletter or e-course is about Ford Trucks and how to maintain them then make sure you keep them up to date on new Ford Truck products that are coming out. This allows you to “monetize” your list.
As you start using the different strategies I have listed you will start to see your traffic increasing. You main goal is to get your product or site seen so that you can gain customers. Be an honest marketer that people can trust and your business will skyrocket!
