Traffic Exchanges For Internet Marketing?

August 29th, 2007 · No Comments

I have used traffic exchanges as some of my internet marketing tools. I can tell you that not all was a success. Most of it was failure. Here is what I have found out about traffic exchanges from my personal experience.

When I first started out with traffic exchanges I was putting any and all affiliate type programs that I belonged to. Back then, I belonged to a lot of programs. I do not recall getting any real sales or sign up from traffic exchanges. Yes, the goal is to have people come to your  page but you don’t want just visitors. You want people that will buy from you or join you in an affiliate program or join something.

Just think of it. All the traffic exchanges you use, how many times do you really read the page? That’s what I thought, not many. The reason for this is because so many people are flooding the exchanges to promote their internet marketing opportunity and everyone is tired of it. They think, “I want you to join mine, so why should I read yours?”

There are a few that have brought me some quality clicks or leads and I will have those listed at the end under resources. Some I am a paid member of, but most I am a free member. The only thing that being a paid member really gets you is a bigger surf ratio and in all honesty, you are only paying for more people to click away from your page. unless it is a opt-in page for information.

The best way to use traffic exchanges is to have an squeeze page with an opt-in form for a free newsletter or free articles that you write or something that they can opt-in to.  I prefer using my newsletter to promote in traffic exchanges because when people join it they then become a prospect of mine. I like giving away e-course and e-books using the same method. People really want more information and the more you give them the better.

I don’t know about you, but I am really tired of seeing all the ads about this guy or that guru that made thousands of dollars in 10 or 60 days. Come on now…I’m not stupid. I know that the person promoting it didn’t make that money.  I want to know what my benefits are.

Traffic exchanges to promote your Internet business is ok, but only if you have an opt-in form for people to get more information. If you have your own list started for opportunity seekers then once they are on your list you can send them other opportunities.
