There is a common belief today that traffic exchanges don't work. I am here to tell you that they do work! But to get the best benefit from traffic exchanges requires a bit of strategy. . .

First you must decided on what you want to use your traffic exchanges for. I use mine to get people to sign up on my capture pages. This builds me a targeted list. Then I promote everything else to my list of captured leads!

Here's how to generate a laser targeted list using traffic exchanges:

If you promote your business opportunities or your sales pages in the traffice exchanges then you will not get anywhere. Most people are on the traffic exchanges for one purpose only -- to earn enough credits to get their own pages seen. So, they are not really focused on spending money and the exchange timer does not give them enough time to evaluate your offer and make a "buying decision" that involves actual cash . . .

BUT, very often people CAN make a decision to take advantage of a free offer -- let's say a free report, a free audio or video or a free membership -- that they can sign up for quickly, then evaluate more fully AFTER they've finished their surfing session.

So by using your traffic exchanges to display lead capture pages that give away free stuff that is targeted to the thing you want to sell on the back end, you can generate a laser targeted list of prospects fairly quickly.

For example: If you want to get signups into a nutritional supplement company, you can offer a free report that talks about health problems and how natural foods have been found to help people who suffer from these problems. Because they were interested enough in health and wellness to get your free report, you know that these people will be more likely to respond favorably to any health, wellness and nutritional offers you may make to them.

I prefer to start with my Paid To Click (PTC) exchanges first. The trick I learned is that you can join free, surf the ads and when you have enough money in your account, use the money to purchase more downline members. You will start earning even more!

Then I like using Contextual ads. You must be a website owner and have the ability to put 3rd party ads on your pages. People that surf these types of sites agree to click on your ads which in turn will earn you revenue. You can pick up 3rd party ads just about anywhere. I use Google ads, Adbrite Ads and CB Globe ads. You will notice several of my ads on this page for demostration purposes.

The most common traffic exchanges are the manual exchanges. The beauty here is that the person must actually click a link to change the pages, so for at least a second or two their eyes will be on your page. If your page is good . . . your offer is free . . . and you're lucky, you will score some signups.
